Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly will miss a minimum of eight weeks after suffering a fracture in his foot.

Rielly suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Florida Panthers but he finished the game.

The 25-year-old has 27 points and 22 penalty minutes in 46 games this season. He also leads the Maple Leafs in ice time with just under 25 minutes per game.

Earlier on Monday, the Maple Leafs recalled rookie Rasmus Sandin from the AHL Marlies to fill in for Rielly.

The Maple Leafs return to action Tuesday at home against the New Jersey Devils.
