The Toronto Maple Leafs made a couple of roster moves Monday morning.
The club placed Martin Marincin on injured reserve with a lower body injury he sustained on Dec. 10 against the Boston Bruins.
The rearguard got tangled up with Bruins forward David Krejci and slammed awkwardly into the end boards in the first period, ending his night and resulting in the club later announcing he’d be out for four to six weeks.
Marincin has one goal and four assists in 16 games this season.
In a corresponding move, the Maple Leafs announced the recall of forward Frederik Gauthier from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
The 21-year-old has registered one goal and three assists in 16 games with the Marlies this year.
Gauthier, who was drafted 21st overall in 2013, made his NHL debut on March 19 and registered his first (and only) NHL point a few games later. The big centreman skated with the Maple Leafs for a total of seven games in 2015-16.
