Maple Leafs sign defenceman Martin Marincin to one-year extension

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman Martin Marincin to a one-year extension worth $700,000.

Marincin, 27, has eight penalty minutes and a plus-three rating in 13 games for the Maple Leafs this season, adding an assist in five contests for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

The Kosice, Slovakia native has been with the Maple Leafs organization since 2015 after being acquired from the Edmonton Oilers in an off-season trade. Marincin has three goals and 19 points in 129 career games with the Maple Leafs.
