Maple Leafs to be without Morgan Rielly until after all-star break

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without injured defenceman Morgan Rielly until after the NHL all-star break.

Head coach Mike Babcock told reporters after Wednesday’s 4-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings, which was Toronto’s fourth straight game without Rielly.

The 22-year-old suffered a lower-body injury on Jan. 17 against Buffalo after colliding with Sabres winger William Carrier and falling into the boards.

The Maple Leafs play Thursday night in Philadelphia before having four days off.

Rielly has 17 points this season and was averaging 23 minutes a game.
