Former Montreal Canadiens forward Mathieu Darche announced his retirement from hockey Tuesday.
The 36-year-old made the announcement in a unique way on Twitter.

Despite the jocular nature of the announcement, Darche’s agent confirmed his client was retiring from pro hockey.
In 250 career NHL games Darche registered 30 goals, 72 points and 58 penalty minutes.
As an undrafted player out of McGill University, it’s fair to say Mathieu Darche beat the odds by playing one NHL game — let alone 250.
