Could Uber-gate end up being a good thing for the Ottawa Senators?
The embarrassing video, which shows several players ripping the team’s systems and penalty kill, leaked this past Monday and was yet another kick to a franchise that has been down for quite some time.
Matt Duchene, one of the players caught in the video, spoke to Sportsnet’s Arash Madani during the first intermission of Saturday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning and had this to say:
“We’ve gotten stronger as a group because of it, and I know I’ve gotten stronger as a person (along with) everyone involved,” said Duchene. “I think it’s brought us closer together and we’ve played some good hockey during it.”
The Senators won their first game since the video’s big release, a 7-3 win over New Jersey, before dropping a decision to Vegas.
They wound up beating Tampa Bay 6-4.
