Reports: Moose to hire Noel as head coach

The Manitoba Moose are set to hire Claude Noel to replace Scott Arniel as head coach, according to multiple reports.

The Moose have called a press conference for Monday where it is expected they will introduce Noel as their new coach after the interim Columbus Blue Jackets bench boss was replaced by Arniel on June 8.

The 54-year-old Noel, was hired as an assistant coach by the Blue Jackets in 2007 and took over for the fired Ken Hitchcock last season on Feb. 3.

Arniel was offered the Columbus position after Hamilton Bulldogs coach Guy Boucher turned down the Blue Jackets to take the reigns of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
