The NHL is bringing the shape of water to the 2019 All-Star Weekend.
All 31 teams revealed their eco-friendly, ocean-inspired jerseys designed for the weekend in San Jose.
In a partnership with Parlay for the Oceans and Adidas, the jerseys contain up-cycled marine debris, like plastic bottles, and the black-and-white designs are crafted as a symbol for the movement to protect the ocean.

“The NHL is a recognized leader in addressing major environmental challenges and preserving the roots of our game,” said Brian Jennings, NHL Chief Branding Officer and Executive Vice President in a press release. “Each year, the NHL All-Star Weekend serves as an opportunity to showcase innovations across all aspects of our game.”
This is the first time the league will use team logos in the All-Star jerseys, as they featured the NHL crest up until last year. The black-and-white designs are made to represent the colours of the game – white like the ice and black like the puck.
The city of San Jose is located near the Pacific Ocean, in Northern California, with a small part of its territory bordering the San Francisco Bay.
