Oilers’ Chiasson in concussion protocol after hit by Avalanche’s Graves

Watch as Alex Chiasson gets leveled by Ryan Graves with a clean hit. His teammate Adam Larsson is then given a game misconduct for what looked like an elbow towards T.J. Tynan

Edmonton Oilers forward Alex Chiasson is in concussion protocol following a hit from Colorado Avalanche defenceman Ryan Graves during the second period of Wednesday night’s 4-1 loss, according to Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Atletic.

Chiasson was on the ice for a couple of minutes and eventually left the game. He did not return with what the team called an upper-body injury. There was no penalty assessed on the play.

Adam Larsson was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct after elbowing forward T.J. Tynan in the face in retaliation for Chiasson getting hit.
