The Edmonton Oilers won’t have their best player in the lineup when they host the Arizona Coyotes Tuesday.

Connor McDavid is sick with the flu and will miss the game, according to Sportsnet’s John Shannon.

McDavid leads the Oilers with 31 goals and 83 points in 57 games this season. In place of McDavid, forward Josh Currie will make his NHL debut on the fourth line.

The news comes on the same night that Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin was also held out of a game with an illness. Hopefully McDavid’s symptoms aren’t as painful as Panarin’s.
