Oilers defenceman Oscar Klefbom could miss ‘weeks’ with hand injury

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Oscar Klefbom left Tuesday night’s game against the Colorado Avalanche and it looks like he won’t be able to return to the lineup for a little while.

Speaking to reporters after his team’s 6-4 win, Oilers coach Ken Hitchcock made mention that Klefbom suffered a hand injury and that he could miss “weeks not days.” Midway through the second period of Tuesday’s contest, Klefbom immediately headed to the bench after blocking a heavy slap shot from the Avalanche’s Sven Andrighetto.

The Oilers are slated to play the Jets in Winnipeg Thursday evening, but Klefbom will return to Edmonton immediately for further evaluation.
