The Edmonton Oilers have placed defenceman Andrej Sekera on injured reserve due to a facial injury.
Sekera took a puck to the face during Edmonton’s loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Feb. 9.
The 31-year-old missed the Oilers’ first 34 games of the season as he recovered from a torn ACL in his left knee. Sekera suffered that injury against the same Ducks in last year’s second-round playoff series.
Sekera has recorded one assist in 18 games in 2017-18.
