Oilers trade Justin Schultz to Penguins for draft pick

Oilers Todd McLellan, Jordan Eberle and Justin Schultz talk about the latter’s erratic play lately and how they are trying to get him over the hump.

The Edmonton Oilers have traded defenceman Justin Schultz to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a third-round draft pick in 2016.

The Oilers will retain 50 per cent of Schultz’s salary.

Schultz, 25, has three goals and seven assists in 45 games this year and is a minus-22.

He signed a one-year, $3.9-million contract in July and is slated to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
