Edmonton Oilers forward Tyler Ennis is out indefinitely after suffering an injury in Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night.
The 30-year-old left the Oilers’ 4-3 loss in the second period after he collided with Blackhawks forward Kirby Dach and appeared to twist his right leg awkwardly. Ennis had to be helped off the ice and was unable to put weight on his right leg.
Ennis has a goal and an assist in three qualifying-round games against the Blackhawks after posting 16 goals and 37 points in 70 regular-season appearances, split between the Oilers and Ottawa Senators.
In addition to the Ennis update, Oilers coach Dave Tippett also said defenceman Adam Larsson will be reassessed following Thursday’s skate. Larsson missed Game 3 on Wednesday after being ruled unfit to play.
Game 4 between the Oilers and Blackhawks goes Friday at 4:45 p.m. MT/6:45 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
