Edmonton Oilers forward Tyler Ennis left Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks and will not return, the team announced.

No further information about his condition was available immediately.

During the second period, Ennis and Chicago Blackhawks forward Kirby Dach collided behind Edmonton’s net. Ennis’ right foot appeared to twist awkwardly during the collision. As medical staff helped Ennis off the ice, he did not seem able to put weight on his right leg.

Prior to his departure, Ennis had one assist on a Leon Draisaitl goal in 6:12 of ice time.

The 30-year-old appeared in 70 regular season games for Edmonton, scoring 16 times and adding 21 assists.
