Panthers acquire Dominic Toninato from Avalanche for Jacob MacDonald

The Florida Panthers have acquired forward Dominic Toninato from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenceman Jacob MacDonald.

The 25-year-old Toninato appeared in two games with the Avalanche last season. He suited up in 57 games with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, producing 14 goals and 29 points. The Duluth, Minn., native has played 39 career NHL games with Colorado.

MacDonald, 26, spent most of the 2018-19 campaign with the Springfield Thunderbirds in the AHL, leading all team defencemen with 14 goals and 43 points in 72 games. The Portland, Ore., native played in two games for the Panthers last season.
