Panthers re-sign Alex Petrovic to one-year deal

The Florida Panthers have signed defenceman Alex Petrovic to a one-year, $1.85-million contract.

Petrovic had one goal and 13 assists in 49 games this past season.

The 25-year-old was slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

Florida drafted the Edmonton native in the second round (36th overall) in 2010.
