Penguins’ Nick Bonino ruled out for Game 3 of Stanley Cup Final

The injury bug continues to bite the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Nick Bonino, who head coach Mike Sullivan said was a game time decision on Friday, will miss Game 3 in Nashville on Saturday night.

In his place, speedster Carl Hagelin draws into the lineup. He’ll see his first game action of the Stanley Cup Final.

When the Penguins arrived in Nashville on Friday, Bonino was seen using crutches and wearing a walking boot. It’s believed he suffered the injury in Game 2 when he blocked a P.K. Subban shot with his ankle. Bonino briefly left the game after that play, but returned.

Bonino has seven points in 21 games this post-season and is a key penalty-killer for the Penguins.

The Penguins lead the Stanley Cup Final 2-0.
