If the Pittsburgh Penguins have any hopes of getting by the New York Rangers, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin need to do better.
The two superstar forwards struggled in Thursday’s Game 1 loss and this image from Saturday’s cover of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review sports section sums up how many Penguins fans are feeling heading into Game 2.

Crosby had little impact on the game, going minus-1 with just one shot on goal in 19:11 of ice-time, while Malkin was also held off the scoreboard in 17:31 of ice-time.
The Penguins have now lost six consecutive playoff road games when Crosby fails to register a point and he only has one goal in 18 playoff games dating back to the 2013 Eastern Conference Final.
“Their best defence was puck possession and holding onto it in our end,” Crosby told reporters after Game 1. “You have to get pucks behind them and really work their D.”
Game 2 takes place Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
