The Nashville Predators extended the contract of head coach Peter Laviolette for two more seasons, the team announced.

Laviolette is entering his third season as coach of the Predators. They reached the second round of the NHL playoffs in 2015-16 after losing in the first round the year prior. Laviolette’s regular season record over that time is 88-52-24.
The veteran coach of 14 seasons is 477-334-112 over his career with the New York Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes — with which he won the Stanley Cup in 2006 — the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Predators.
