The Nashville Predators have signed 2019 Hobey Baker Award nominee Rem Pitlick to a two-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
The 21-year-old from Plymouth, Minn., finished tied for sixth in NCAA scoring in his junior season with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, who were eliminated by Notre Dame in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Saturday.
The 2016 third-round draft pick of the Predators established career-highs in goals (21), assists (24) and points (45) with the Golden Gophers this season. Pitlick had 31 and 32 points in his past two seasons in Minnesota, respectively.
The five-foot-nine, 196-pound centre is the son of former Ottawa Senators defenceman Lance Pitlick, whose eight-year NHL career spanned from 1994 to 2002. He is also cousins with Dallas Stars centre Tyler Pitlick.
