Predators sign defenceman Dan Hamhuis to 2-year deal

The Nashville Predators have announced the signing of defenceman Dan Hamhuis to a two-year contract worth $2.5 million.

35, Hamhuis was drafted 12th overall by the Preds in the 2001 NHL Draft and played his first 483 games for the franchise. He then went on to play for the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars.

The Smithers, BC native has played in 1,030 regular season games for his career, posting 343 points, and a further 21 points in 62 post-season games.

Hamhuis will be on the books for $1.5 million in the 2018-19 season and an additional $1 million in 2019-20.
