New York Rangers defenceman Kevin Klein is retiring from the NHL after 13 seasons.
Originally a second-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2003, Klein skated in 627 games with the Predators and Rangers.
The 32-year-old had 38 goals and 154 points in his NHL career, with a plus-22 rating and 185 penalty minutes.
Klein was limited to 60 games this past season due to back spasms and was a healthy scratch for all but one of the Rangers’ playoff games. He had one more season remaining on his contract with the Rangers at $2.9 million.
