Detroit’s Justin Abdelkader to miss 2-4 weeks with MCL strain

DETROIT — Justin Abdelkader of the Detroit Red Wings is expected to miss two to four weeks with what the team describes as a slight MCL strain.

The 29-year-old forward left Detroit’s loss to Florida on Thursday night in the first period.

Abdelkader has four goals and four assists in 22 games this season. The Red Wings play at Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
