Roman Josi takes high hit, leaves with upper-body injury

Anton Blidh would receive a game misconduct for this hit on Roman Josi.

Nashville Predators defenceman Roman Josi left Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins with an upper-body injury after receiving a hit to the head from Anton Blidh.

The incident occurred with 4:34 remaining in the first period. Josi followed the puck into the corner of his own defensive zone and played it out down the boards. Blidh followed the play and delivered a late, high hit to the head of the Predators’ defenceman.

Blidh was assessed a five minute major penalty on the play and was ejected from the game.

In 41 games this season, Josi leads all Predators’ defenders with five goals and 17 assists.

Earlier in the game, Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask left after taking a puck to the neck or jaw area.
