Ron and Don: Devils forward Taylor Hall ‘is like Bobby Orr’

Don Cherry and Ron MacLean discuss Alex Ovechkin and his hollering at the officials. Brad Marchand’s overtime winner against the Montreal Canadiens, Nathan MacKinnon’s goal scoring last night. Plus the comeback of Eric Staal.

Taylor Hall is in the midst of the best season of his career and Don Cherry is certainly taking notice.

“He’s having a great year,” Cherry said Saturday night during the Coach’s Corner segment on Hockey Night in Canada. “This guy is like Bobby Orr and [Guy] Lafleur. Ready to go.”

Hall, in his second season with the New Jersey Devils following a trade from Edmonton, has 29 goals and 70 points in 60 games this season.

He scored again on Friday night and has now recorded points in a whopping 24 straight games. It’s the type of production that could warrant inclusion in the Hart Trophy conversation.
