Senators’ Craig Anderson to miss a week with knee injury

Watch as Craig Anderson leaves the game after an awkward goal (that ended up being overturned for offside) and has not returned. Anders Nilsson has taken over in net.

The Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson will miss at least a week with a knee injury.

This is the second time the 38-year-old will miss time with a lower-body injury in less than a month.

Anderson suffered this latest injury in Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. After letting a puck squeeze between himself and the post, Anderson fell while trying to stand up and then skated slowly off the ice. The goal was then overturned due to an offside challenge by the Senators.

The Flyers game was his second start since returning from an earlier lower-body injury that kept him out of the lineup for two weeks. Anderson has a 5-8-0 record in 16 games this season with a 3.01 goals-against average and .901 save percentage.

Marcus Hoberg has been recalled from AHL Belleville to backup Anders Nilsson. The Senators host the Boston Bruins on Monday night.
