The Ottawa Senators have recalled Filip Gustavsson — their top goaltending prospect — from AHL Belleville.

Gustavsson, 21, has never appeared in an NHL game. Veterans Craig Anderson and Marcus Hogberg have been sharing the net most of this season in Ottawa, with Anders Nilsson out since December with a concussion. According to Sportsnet’s Wayne Scanlan, Hogberg has returned home to Sweden for family reasons.

In his second season with Belleville, Gustavsson has a 15-5-3 record 3.28 goals-against and .885 save percentage.

The Senators return to action on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
