The 27-year-old is from the Ottawa suburb of Orléans. He has 77 points and 646 penalty minutes in 308 career AHL games and has never played in an NHL game.
Sabourin spent his final year of junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals, who were coached by D.J. Smith. Now, Smith is Sabourin’s coach in Ottawa.
