Sharks captain Logan Couture out week-to-week with fractured ankle

Logan Couture is forced to exit the game after the goes into the boards awkwardly and comes up with an apparent knee injury.

San Jose Sharks captain Logan Couture is expected to be out week-to-week with a fractured ankle, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Friedman added that Couture will miss six weeks with the injury.

Couture, 30, collided with St. Louis Blues defenceman Vince Dunn during Tuesday’s game, which caused him to fall awkwardly into the boards. Couture appeared to hurt his left leg on the play and had to be helped off the ice.

The 11-year veteran has 36 points in 44 games for the Sharks, who sit 26th in the NHL standings.
