San Jose Sharks pivot Joe Thornton will have a hearing Monday for a hit to the head of Vegas Golden Knights‘ Tomas Nosek.
The incident in question occurred late in the second period of Game 3, with Vegas already holding a dominant 4-1 lead. As Nosek skated towards the corner, Thornton emerged from behind Vegas’ cage and caught the Golden Knights winger with a shoulder to the head.
Thornton was handed a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head. The Golden Knights went on to win 6-3, taking their series lead to 2-1.
The clubs meet for Game 4 on Tuesday, with puck drop set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
