Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was back on the ice Wednesday after missing two days of training camp for an undisclosed reason.

Crosby skated before the team took the ice for practice. Michelle Crechiolo, a writer for the Penguins’ official team site, reported that Crosby would not skate with the team on Wednesday.

Crosby left Saturday’s team scrimmage before it concluded, but a new NHL policy prevented the Penguins from commenting on his status. The soon-to-be 33-year-old was then absent from Sunday’s practice and Monday’s scrimmage. The team was off Tuesday.

The Penguins will continue holding training camp sessions for the remainder of the week before heading to the Eastern Conference hub in Toronto on Sunday. They will play one exhibition game against the Philadelphia Flyers on July 28 and begin their best-of-five Stanley Cup Qualifiers series with the Montreal Canadiens on Aug. 1.
