Stars to hire Jim Montgomery as next head coach

The Dallas Stars will hire Jim Montgomery as their next head coach, according to Elliotte Friedman.

Montgomery was previously the head coach of the University of Denver men’s hockey team, which he led to a National Championship in 2017.

He also played in the NHL for six seasons between 1993-2003, during which he recorded nine goals and 25 assists in 122 games while playing for the Dallas Stars, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues.
