Stars’ Jamie Oleksiak out 3 to 6 weeks with hand injury

Watch as Jamie Oleksiak undresses a couple of Blues defenders to find a hole in Jake Allen to get the Stars within one.

Dallas Stars defenceman Jamie Oleksiak will miss three to six weeks with a hand injury, as per head coach Lindy Ruff.

Oleksiak left Tuesday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks after taking a puck to the hand and did not return.

The team initially expected the blue liner to only miss a couple of weeks, meaning the injury is more serious than originally anticipated.

The 24-year-old was finally blossoming into the player the Stars had hoped for when they picked him 14th overall in the 2011 NHL Draft, becoming a regular on the team’s blue line and scoring six points (five goals, one assist) in 20 games this season.
