The Dallas Stars announced Monday that the club has signed defenceman Dillon Heatherington to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 23-year-old Heatherington split the 2017-2018 season with Dallas and the Texas Stars of the AHL. He appeared in six regular-season NHL games with Dallas, notching one point and 26 penalty minutes.

Heatherington has appeared in 181 regular-season AHL contests with Springfield, Lake Erie/Cleveland and Texas. Over his four AHL seasons, he has recorded 51 points, 148 penalty minutes and a +18 rating. The defenceman has also tallied six points in 36 career Calder Cup Playoff games.
