Stars sign defenceman Jamie Oleksiak to one-year deal

The Dallas Stars have signed restricted free agent defenceman Jamie Oleksiak to a one-year contract.

Oleksiak, 23, is coming off a season in which he played in 19 games for Dallas, scoring two assists.

The 6-foot-7 blue-liner was taken 14th overall by the Stars in the 2011 NHL Draft.

He has 74 points (15 goals, 59 assists) in 171 career AHL games and 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 78 career NHL contests.

The Stars now have just two restricted free agents left to sign: 21-year-old Valeri Nichushkin and 23-year-old Matej Stransky.
