Subban channels Marshawn Lynch in interview

P.K. Subban doesn’t seem concerned about a possible personal response by the Senators tonight, will focus on helping the Canadiens win game two.

Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban fielded questions from David Amber prior to puck drop in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series versus the Ottawa Senators.

The spot started off cordial, as Subban answered a question about the atmosphere surrounding himself and his Canadiens teammates over the past 48 hours. Then, Subban channeled his inner Marshawn Lynch when talk shifted to his vicious slash on Senators forward Mark Stone in Game 1.

“I’m focusing on my team and nothing else,” is the NHL’s “I’m here so I won’t get fined,” which Seattle Seahawks running back Lynch infamously responded with repeatedly during media day prior to Super Bowl XLIX.

Subban’s grin at the end of his interview suggests it was all in good fun. He’s not about to give the Senators anything else to use as motivation in Game 2.

Amber, for his part, appeared to take Subban’s reply in jest. You can’t say the same for some NFL reporters who took issue with Lynch’s bit.
