Team Europe names preliminary World Cup of Hockey roster

Check this out, as Maple Leafs great Darryl Sittler and Toronto Mayor John Tory help unveil the World Cup of Hockey countdown clock in front of the ACC with host George Stroumboulopoulos.

Team Europe has released its preliminary 16-player roster for the World Cup of Hockey 2016, taking place Sept. 17 to Oct. 1, 2016, in Toronto.

Each team’s full 23-man roster must be finalized by June 1.

Named to Team Europe are:
