The Toronto Maple Leafs signed Val-d’Or Foreurs goaltender Antoine Bibeau to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The 20-year-old started the 2013-14 campaign with the Charlottetown Islanders before helping lead the Foreurs to a QMJHL President’s Cup championship. Bibeau put up a 16-8 record with a 2.80 goals against average and .913 save percentage en route to winning the Guy Lafleur Trophy as QMJHL playoff MVP — the first netminder to do so since current Leafs starter Jonathan Bernier did it back in 2007 with the Lewiston MAINEiacs.

Bibeau was also solid in the MasterCard Memorial Cup, where he was named the tournament’s Outstanding Goaltender after posting a .932 save percentage in four games.

The Victoriaville, Que., native was selected 172nd overall by the Leafs in the 2013 NHL Draft.
