Valeri Nichushkin is returning to the NHL after spending the past two years in the KHL.

The 23-year-old right winger was the 10th overall pick by Dallas in the 2013 draft and has 23 goals with 64 points in 166 career NHL games. After spending parts of three seasons with the Stars, Nichushkin signed with CSKA Moscow where he scored 27 goals in 86 games across two seasons.

Stars GM Jim Nill was optimistic that Nichushkin wanted to return to the NHL in 2018-19 and that the two sides would get a deal done.
