You have yourself quite the New Year’s dilemma. You love your Washington Capitals, but, gosh darnit, you also have a soft spot for puppies.
So, which calendar do you purchase?
Ta-da. The Capitals — “a team full of dog lovers,” according to Karl Alzner — have released their 2015 Canine Calendar.
Linking up with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, a local animal adoption organization, a group of Capitals players including Dmitry Orlov, Alex Ovechkin, John Carlson, Jay Beagle (natch) and Evgeny Kuznetsov playfully posed with adoptable puppies as well as their own dogs.
All proceeds from the calendar’s sales will benefit Homeward Trails, a nonprofit organization.
Also of note, the Chicago Blackhawks — the Caps’ Winter Classic foes — are also working on their own 2015 dog calendar.
Your move, David Backes.
Bonus Beat: Not to be outdone, the Montreal Canadiens have also hopped aboard the calendar train (via wooden toboggan). Not only is this a great excuse for Habs fans to check out Max Pacioretty and Brendan Gallagher’s bare legs, you can download this bad boy and make it your desktop wallpaper.
