The Vancouver Canucks pinned a lot of hope on Bo Horvat when they used the 2013 ninth-overall pick acquired from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Cory Schneider on him.
Horvat was coming up on the nine-game deadline for which the Canucks had to make a call on either sending him back to junior or keeping him in the NHL. Head coach Willie Desjardins and Co. had some fun when they made their call on Tuesday morning at practice… and they had cameras rolling to document the occasion.
“Coach came in the room after video and showed one of my bad clips and then ended off with one of my good clips and asked me which player I’m going to be,” Horvat told assembled media.
Horvat answered correctly, stating he’s the player who goes to the net to score.
The 19-year-old rookie has one goal and three assists in nine games this season.
