The Minnesota Wild have traded a conditional fifth-round pick to the Vegas Golden Knights for defenceman Brad Hunt and a sixth-round pick.
The Wild will send either their own fifth-round pick or the Washington Capitals’ fifth-rounder in 2019 to the Golden Knights, with Vegas getting the better of the two selections.
The trade comes hours after the Wild beat the Golden Knights 4-2 in Vegas.
Hunt, 30, has been a healthy scratch for the Golden Knights most of the season but has two goals and seven points in 13 games. The five-foot-nine Maple Ridge, B.C., native has appeared in 91 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators and Golden Knights over six seasons.
Vegas signed Hunt as a free agent in 2017. The Wild assigned defenceman Louie Belpedio to AHL Iowa to make room for Hunt on their roster.
