Minnesota Wild defenceman Matt Dumba will miss “significant” time after undergoing surgery for an upper-body injury.
Dumba has missed the Wild’s last two games after exiting last Saturday’s game against the Calgary Flames after playing just 5:37 of ice time over six shifts.
It’s unclear when, exactly, the injury occurred, but after playing the first period he didn’t come out for the second or third. He did get into a fight with the Flames’ Matthew Tkachuk just 40 seconds into the game, but he continued to play afterwards.
The 24-year-old has 12 goals and 22 points in 32 games this season.
