With the World Cup of Hockey just three months away, Team Sweden announced a roster change to its defence group on Wednesday.

Hampus Lindholm of the Anaheim Ducks has been added to the team in place of injured Niklas Kronwall of the Detroit Red Wings. Lindholm, the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, has three NHL seasons under his belt and is coming off a 10-goal, 28-point campaign.

Kronwall, 35, was limited to 64 games last season because of a knee injury.

Lindholm has represented Sweden in four junior tournaments, but the World Cup will be his first time representing his country as a pro. Lindholm averaged 22 minutes of ice time a game last NHL season, second on the Ducks to Cam Fowler.
