Team Europe’s Marian Hossa ‘good to go’ after injury scare

Nathan MacKinnon scored twice, once to open the scoring and the other on a penalty shot, to back Matt Murray to a 4-0 shutout win for North America over Europe.

After playing just 10:47 against Team North America Thursday night, sitting the entire third period, and being taken to a Quebec hospital post-game, 37-year-old Marian Hossa is “good to go” for Team Europe, says coach Ralph Krueger.

“He’s fine,” Krueger said to the Chicago Tribune. “He had a lower-body setback that was minor and he’ll be okay to go tomorrow in practice.

“He looks good to go, all green lights. It was a safety precaution to pull him out in the third. It turned out to be a light injury that’s fine today. No setbacks there.”

Team Europe’s next pre-tournament game is Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET against Team North America at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
