My Boy Prince installed as early 7-5 favourite for King’s Plate

My Boy Prince has been installed as the 7-5 early favourite for the $1-million King’s Plate.

The 2024 Plate Trial winner, trained by Mark Casse, will break from the No. 7 post in the 1 1/4-mile King’s Plate, which will be run Saturday at Woodbine Racetrack in north Toronto.

Casse also had the 2-1 second favourite in Essex Serpent, who drew the No. 3 post in Tuesday’s race draw at Woodbine.

Stronach Farms’ Rafaroo, the 8-1 third choice, drew the No. 2 post.

A total of 13 horses are scheduled to go postward for the opening leg of the OLG Canadian Triple Crown.

Wando, ridden by Patrick Husbands and trained by Mike Keogh for owner Gus Schickedanz, was the last the country’s last Triple Crown winner in 2003.
