Canadiens prospect Rohrer released from hospital after scary collision in OHL game

Ottawa 67's forward and Montreal Canadiens prospect Vinzenz Rohrer has been released from hospital after he was stretchered off the ice Wednesday during a game against the Kingston Frontenacs, the team announced Thursday.

The incident occurred in the first period of the OHL game, when Rohrer was upended by Frontenacs defenceman Thomas Budnick's hip-check before hitting the back of his head on the ice.

Upon being taken to the hospital, the 67's said Rohrer was awake and talking with movement in all his extremities.

The Canadiens selected Rohrer, a Feldkirch, Austria native, 75th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.
