Regina Pats star Connor Bedard scored his 71st goal of the year as his team fell 5-3 to the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.
With exactly five minutes to go in the game's third period, the 17-year-old got the puck past the Raiders' goaltender after taking a drop-pass from teammate Alexander Suzdalev.
He had been held point-less in the Pats' game the previous night, a 3-2 loss to the Saskatoon Blades.
Although his goal helped get the Pats within two, the team ultimately suffered their second loss in a row as their regular season came to a close.
The Pats clinched their first post-season berth since 2018 last weekend. It will mark Bedard's first — and potentially only — WHL playoff appearance.
BEDARD'S SEASON TOTALS: 57 GP, 71 G, 72 A, 143 PTS.
PATS' RECORD: 34-30-4 (Sixth in the Eastern Conference)
UP NEXT: Bedard and the Pats will face the Blades in the first round of playoffs with Game 1 on March 31 at 7 p.m. CT.
