Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck is on the move, having been traded to the Saginaw Spirit by the Peterborough Petes on Monday.
The Spirit, who will host the Memorial Cup tournament this spring, are in a win-now mode and sent forward Aiden Young and three draft picks to the Petes for Beck, a forward. The trade virtually guarantees he'll play in the final four of junior hockey.
Beck has 16 goals and 14 points in 25 games this season for the Petes in the Ontario Hockey League and recently returned from representing Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Sweden.
A native of Port Hope, Ont., Beck was drafted in the second round, 33rd overall, by the Canadiens in in 2022.
